What can I achieve with a laser treatment?

Lasers for skin care has been used for over 50 years in skin ailments.  We have very rapidly, over the past 10 years, advanced in laser quality and effectiveness to improving skin care.  At GCL Aesthetics, we offer the most effective laser treatments to achieve amazing results.  We spend a great deal of time examining the response of the skin to ensure the correct results.  We have also been very particular in the lasers we implement to achieve great results in ALL skin types! Whether you have freckles, acne or rosacea, we have a laser to tackle your skin care needs.  Below are some of the lasers we use and the skin conditions it will treat.  

1. PICOsecond lasers - PICO Majesty, PICO 450, PICO Alex - PICO lasers have gained popularity in the past 5 years.  Designed to reduce skin complications due to heat generated, the safety is well noted.  Conditions it treats are; Tattoo Removal, Hyperpigmentation, Toning of PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation), traumatic tattoos, epidemal lesions such as freckles and solar keratoses or sunspots, skin rejuvenation using fractionated PICO and toning of melasma.  

2. Lavieen Thulium Laser  - This is the staff favorite as it is versatile and well tolerated.  This laser treats; Skin Rejuvenation, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation, redness of the skin, and our K-Beauty BB glow procedure! 3. Long-Pulsed Lasers (Quanta Evo) - These lasers have been around for a long time.  Its the most effective treatment to remove unwanted hair in all skin types.  Other skin conditons treated with our quanta lasers are: Laser Hair Removal, Spider veins, cherry angiomas, freckles, epidermal and dermal pigmentation, laser genesis for collagen remodeling and pore reduction.

4. IPL (Intensed Pulsed Light) - This is the OG of lasers.  Although the safety is user dependent (we are the experts : ) ) the results can be amazing! We may suggest this for clients with multiple spider veins on the face and also scattered pigmentation that needs a multipurpose approach.  

5. Q-Switched Ruby (Quanta Q+C) - This is one of our favorite lasers as well.  This special laser was one of the first wavelengths used to treat pigmentation on the skin.  If you have these issues, consider calling us for a ruby laser treatment: Beckers Nevus, Mongolian spot, Nevus of Ota, Nevus of Ito, dermal pigmentation, and green tattoos!

One thing to remember about our office is we are a physician owned and operated medical aesthetics clinic.  Dr Khan is always in office and we treat every condition as a medical treatment.  We utilize our lasers medically to achieve amazing results!

Semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy) is a GLP-1 agonist exerts its main effect by stimulating glucose-dependent insulin release from the pancreatic islets.  This has also been shown to slow gastric emptying, inhibit inappropriate post-meal glucagon release, and reduce food intake.  

Tirzepatide (Monjaro, Zepbound) is also the same class of medication, GLP-1 agonist, that exerts the same effect for weight loss.  If you are experiencing more side effects with Semaglutide, you may consider switching to Tirzepatide.  

This protocol is shown to acclimate the body to the effects of the medication and promote weight loss through reduced caloric intake.  This agent SHOULD NOT cause low blood sugars or hypoglycemia unless combined with other medications.  

The side effects of GLP-1-based therapies are predominantly gastrointestinal, particularly nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, which are frequent.  Other possible but uncommon side effects are Acute pancreatitis, cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, anaphylaxis, injection site sensitivity, thrombocytopenia, progression of thyroid cancers if present.

Dosing Schedule:

1. Schedule is broken up into weeks with incremental dosing.

2. You Do Not have to increase to full dose if the effect is present.  

3. You can maintain on any dose that helps to continue weight loss.  

4. Follow schedule as per protocol and be mindful of side effects.

5. We will draw up the syringes prior to visit - keep in refrigerator at home.

We recommend the following:

1. Labs - you will need complete metabolic panel and thyroid panel along with CBC and lipids - in office draw - $150 for labs.

2. Initial consultation - Currently free but booking fee for no show is required ($50).

3. Weight check prior and monthly - f/u visits in office for weight check - $50/visit

4. Repeat labs in 3 months after - $150

5. In office Injections - $35

6. Additional prescription for other meds for symptoms - $150 - this includes the office visit.  

**Please note that this a prescription grade medication that has both effects and side effects.  For this matter we treat this as a medical management treatment as we do our other procedures in office.  There may be other offices offering this as a variation in rates but we understand the risks associated and stand by our process and pricing.**

Radiofequency?

Radiofrequency

Radio frequency has been used for various applications for some time now.  As many of you know, we use Radiosurgery to remove moles, skin tags, PPPs and warts.  This method is very effective resulting in very little to no scarring with no collateral effect to the skin.  

About 10 years ago, radiofrequency took a dramatic turn and became a noninvasive way to tighten skin and improve collagen response.  This extended to the very popular microneedling to include RF into microneedling.  

Fast forward to today, RF still remains a great addition to your beauty regimen but there are some who feel that RF has become an issue for long term issues with the skin.  There are many layers to the issues that has arisen with RF but in the proper hands with proper use, its dynamic effect on the skin is unmatched.  

We are your physician owned medical aesthetics clinic in OC that can deliver clear and measurable results with RF.  We do utilize RF microneedling and noninvasive OLIGIO RF.  

Clients who will qualify for radiofrequency and number of sessions required:

1. Younger age (25-30) - maintenance sessions - recc 2-3 per year

2. Middle age (31-50) - recc 3-4 sessions, spaced 2 months apart then maintain 2 sessions per year

3. Older (50+) - probably not going to do as much as you want this to do unless you have maintained a good collagen balance of the skin and just need to add this into another laser session to improve skin quality.  We often will offer a combination treatment with another laser following the RF session.  Products must be used along with treatment and we may additionally suggest adding SCUPTRA to your regimen as well.  Dr Khan will make recommendations to achieve great results.

No Show/Cancellation

We have noticed an uptick in no shows and same day cancellations.  We have so many clients waiting to get their procedures done, they can benefit from the times that are being left empty due to this issue.  Our staff also becomes sad to have nothing to do for your time slot that goes unfilled due to no shows and last minute cancellations.  Our policy remains $50 no show or loose a session.  If you did not inform us by txt, email or voicemail, we will require a $50 charge to book your next appointment.  Please try to let us know any changes 24h in advance.  We understand things can come up so we will work to get you scheduled again.  Thank you for your consideration.
